Linda Martinez Reaction Paper 1 10 February 2011 Folkways are the norms that members of a society see as not being critical and that may be broken without severe punishment. My plan is to begin a conversation with a family member, a friend, and an acquaintance and then surprisingly just fall, but I will say loudly, “Trust Fall.” The family member I predict will drop what they have in their hands and catch me right away. I expect this because he or she is a loved one and a loved one will not want to see me get hurt. The friend I predict will not react in time and then we will both fall to the ground and while on the ground they will be asking me why I just did that. I expect this because my friend will think I am joking and then at the last minute realize that I am seriously falling and attempt to save me, but not actually catch me. The acquaintance I predict will move to the side and wonder why I just fell. I expect this because they do not know me and have no reason to save me from hurting myself. They will also be thinking this is a joke and will go along with it.
