Winston Gordon ATH175 9.30.11 Field Site Visit #4 Questions 1. The additional types of data that I gathered were cartography and surveys. 2. I chose surveys because I believed they would help me make connections between why people go to my field site and parts of their backgrounds. I believed the cartography exercise would help me map out exactly how people were distributed around my field site, and why. 3. From these types of data I am likely to learn about the connections between the personal lives of those at my field site and the reasons why they attend my field site.

Unformatted text preview: 4. The cartography exercise does not have quantitative data. Qualitative data is good, but in this case the qualitative data is not enough to just base any ideas off of. The surveys are also limited because you can always have more people take the survey, which means your data could always be more accountable. 5. Gathering this data made others realize why I was there and what I was doing, and they will now go about their business as usual if they see me taking notes during their activities....
