Learning Journal Unit 3Netiquette is important because it brings coordination in an online environment; whenparticipants understand that there are set of rules guiding the platform, it bring aboutcollaborative leaning, respect for one another and serene atmosphere for learning. Everyone ishappy when the platform is not toxic, when people are not intentionally bringing each otherdown or attacking each other online. Where netiquette is applied students tend to be open, to bevery polite in providing feedback, even when the feedback is about criticizing the studentopinions, because the feedback must be factual, helpful, motivating, and necessary. (2010) “The quality of and participation in online discussion increases whennetiquette is observed by students in both synchronous and asynchronous platforms” (p.265).There are consequences of bad netiquette in a learning platform.
