Aguilera 1 Claudia Aguilera First Rough Draft 10/20/2010 Composition Skills Title School could be either that place called second home, or could be that place where students don’t fit at all. Children all over America start school being just kids and finish with a high education, leading them to a bright future. For some students these opportunities of going to good schools and colleges, and to receive a good education, are often given to since they are born due to their family social status. For the rest of the other children, the child of the blue collar workers, or im- migrants, these opportunities might never come to life. Jean Anyon reveals in her essay “Social Class and the Hidden Curriculum of Work” how different types of schools gives unequal educa- tional opportunities to students and prepares them for specific jobs that will adjust to their family social status. In Mike Rose’s essay “I Just Wanna Be Average” he writes about his experiences at the Vocational School and how his life changed after a great teacher got into his life. Helping our children and teaching them in a proper way will lead them to a better future. Education is essen- tial for everybody; it gives wings to fly somewhere else to a place where one’s can achieve goals. Schools follows different based on students backgrounds, turning them either into professionals who are ready to lead the nation, or factory workers, people that society does not esteem.

As a current student on this bumpy collegiate pathway, I stumbled upon Course Hero, where I can find study resources for nearly all my courses, get online help from tutors 24/7, and even share my old projects, papers, and lecture notes with other students.

The ability to access any university’s resources through Course Hero proved invaluable in my case. I was behind on Tulane coursework and actually used UCLA’s materials to help me move forward and get everything together on time.
