Wednesday, November 7th, 2:30 pm Clear skies, windy, brisk, and chilly, but sunny Run-hop: squirrel ran briskly across the lawn, doing two consecutive hops, then running for approximately 3 seconds and repeating, during the hop it would flick it’s tail Tail-flick: the flick occurred at the end of the hop, the tail curled under and up and then flicked out quickly extending horizontally before curling under once more Alert resting: squirrel is on tree branch w/ hind legs resting together underneath body, whereas front legs are extended and as if he is pushing himself up with these limbs. They are at approx. 45 degree angle to his body and the head is extended and ears are alert and strait up. Tail was flat against the branch and was twirling slowly left to right. November 8 th , 8:30 am Clear skies, sunny, and cold Squirrel runs low to branch and flicks tail low and only twice then resorts to high and fast flicks Squirrel moves across trunk downward w/ legs spread and tail low.
