1 Swope Sarah Swope Professor Yulia Levchenko English 150 17 January 2011 Letter to Yulia Coming into the classroom my first day of English 150 was interesting. The people walking into the classroom were not my type of friends, and I could not picture myself getting along with many of them. I thought to myself, “This is going to be another one of those classes I just barely get by in,” and I was fine with it. Then the first class started and I realized the professor was not going to let us simply sit through her class. In high school, I was forced to get to know and befriend people in my classes, but the first semester of college changed my view of school. I went from thinking of school as part of my life to feeling as if school was my last priority. I was not pushed by my teachers to be the best student I could be and so I simply got by. My first class in English 150 changed my views a little bit. We went around the room and we were asked to get to know each other a little bit. I decided at that point to put a little more effort into my English class.
