Linda Martinez JGEN 220 30 August 2011 When I analyze a problem I like to break it up into a few steps: identify the main issue or issues, list alternative courses of action, evaluate each course of action, and choose the best course of action. Sometimes when I do this process I do not take my time with it, so what I mean by this is that I do not come up with the best or many alternative courses of action. So right now I think my skills in analyzing problems are very weak. An effective communicator to me is a person who is very good at verbally speaking and listening. When I speak I try to speak clearly so that there is no confusion on what I am trying to tell the other person. But I do not consider myself an effective communicator because when I am conversing with someone I will pay more attention to what I will be saying next and not what the other person is saying. Also, I have very selective hearing so this makes it harder for other people to get their point across to me. Being a friendly and outgoing person gives me confidence in communicating
