Unformatted text preview: SHORT-TERM ENGLISH IMMERSION PROGRAMS at Nancy Campbell Collegiate Institute London, Ontario, Canada H a v e f u n i n C a n a d a a n d b e c o m e a w o r l d c i t i z e n SHORT-TERM ENGLISH IMMERSION PROGRAMS A comfortable, safe and friendly learning environment Are you ready for an international English immersion adventure in Canada where you will have fun and make friendships that last a lifetime? The program is for groups of students from around the world, 12-18 years of age. Study with Canadian youth in a warm and welcoming school community. The program is designed for groups of 10 participants or more, and specifically tailored to meet your groups needs. The programs can run over a few weeks in the summer, or even months at a time during the regular school year. Residence and or Homestay options are available with full-time or part-time programming. We offer complete immersion into the Nancy Campbell program or a partial inclusion that is combined with language training. We also offer students a wide variety of school activities and fun educational trips to spectacular Canadian sights and attractions. Participants experience Canada and what it means to be world citizens. PROGRAM OFFERINGS English Immersion Develop your English skills in an English-speaking environment; focus on mastering spoken English and vocabulary development. Nancy Campbell Collegiate Institute www.nancycampbell.net Becoming a World Citizen Our World Citizenship program helps participants become more aware of issues and challenges that face communities throughout the world. They discuss various concepts, analyze problems, evaluate their own thought process, and learn to understand other perspectives. They also use their moral leadership skills to resolve the issues in a fair and just manner. Our World Citizenship program helps participants develop critical thinking skills and work towards solutions. Program Highlights 30 or more hours of directed learning includes: Fifteen (15) hours of comprehensive English education per week (oral, reading, writing) Seventeen (17) to 20 hours of structured integration with Canadian students (Junior Instructors during the summer) per week gives students lots of opportunities to speak with English-speaking peers. Maximum 20:1 student/teacher ratio means students receive the personal attention they need to learn Training in oral presentations, music, dance, and media arts prepares students to offer a complete 45- minute performance upon returning home. Participants families can experience the value of the program when their children show them what they have learned. Located at Nancy Campbell Collegiate Institute, a private international day and boarding school.
