Of short duration, this program combines the study of French with the practice of winter sports. In class, the emphasis is placed on conversational French. Your classmates will be at the same level of French proficiency as you. The Saguenay—Lac-St-Jean region is one of the most beautiful places in North America to do outdoor activities. Students will have the opportunity to take part in winter sports such as cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, skating, dog-sledding, broomball, winter camping, tobogganing or even snowshoe. Moreover There will be a two-day visit to Quebec City during your stay! CLASSES After oral and written placement tests done on the first day, participants are assigned to language classes corresponding to their fluency in French. During this 3-week program, participants will take a 45-hour French course (3 credits) and a 15-hour course based on Quebec culture (1 credit). Classes are proficiency oriented, so the emphasis in class is placed on building oral skills. Also, with a communicative teaching approach developed by the École de langue and the small number of students per class, students will quickly build confidence in speaking the language, thus helping them to make more progress....
