Localized Electron Model The localized electron pair model assumes that molecules are composed of atoms that are held together by sharing of electrons using the atomic orbitals of the bound atoms Electron pairs are assumed to be localized on a particular atom or in the space between two atoms Our guiding principle: Bonds form between atoms such that the atoms achieve the electronic configuration of the nearest nobel gas Bonding Pair Lone Pair
