Nathan Ellis September 16, 2005 Biblical Survey 1:00 Kersey Box #621 1. The Israelites went three days after they parted from the Red Sea before complaining. 2. According to Exodus 13:17-22, God appeared to them in a pillar of fire and cloud during the night, and during the day to guide them to where they were to go. When the cloud or fire stopped, that’s where they stopped, and when the pillar started to move, they would follow. 3. Jacob and Esau: Esau sold his birthright to Jacob for food. Joseph and Brothers: Joseph was sold by his brothers to the Ishmaelites Isaac over Ishmael: Isaac’s offspring are what makes Abraham recognized 4. According to Logos Difficulties in the Bible , God only hardened Pharaoh’s heart after He had asked him to do something, and he refused. Pharaoh’s heart was already hardened by Pharaoh’s actions and choices, and it was only then that God hardened his heart even more. 5. It was 24 years (75-99) between God’s first promise to Abraham in Gen 12 and the affirmation of the covenant by circumcision.
