Unformatted text preview: Print Page Close Window News Release American Airlines Reports August TrafFc FORT WORTH, Texas, Sept. 6, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- American Airlines reported an August load factor of 85.3 percent, an increase of 0.7 points versus the same period last year. Capacity decreased 1.2 percent, while traf¡c was 0.4 percent lower year-over-year. International traf¡c increased by 3.0 percent on a capacity increase of 1.1 percent, resulting in an increase in international load factor of 1.5 points versus August of last year. Domestic load factor increased 0.2 points year-over-year, as capacity and traf¡c decreased by 2.8 and 2.6 percent year-over-year respectively. American boarded 7.6 million passengers in August.
