Upon looking from Kitty’s mother’s perspective, you can see how bad Kitty really has gotten, how hard it is for the mother to bear it, and how hard it is to have an anorexic child. You can see that Kitty has gotten way tooskinny, and is way too concerned with her weight. You can see how Kitty’s mother is worried sick and barely sleeps anymore because of worry about her daughter. You can also see how hard it is on the family, how hard it is to argue night after night about eating. However, you can also see that Kitty’s mother might bring biases into the story. Throughout these chapters Kitty’s mother is reading books about anorexia, but saying that none of these describe her child or their relationship. Although this may be true, it can also be true that
