Ask students to search for images before coming to class. o Have students work in pairs or small groups to describe the images and complete the activities. Have students report their responses to the class. As their linguistic abilities improve, have them report their partner’s responses as a way of checking comprehension and exploring the variety that exists in the class. o Always encourage students to converse in Spanish during class, prompting them when needed. Persuade students to use vocabulary from the current chapter and previous chapters to describe the images. This will allow students to gain confidence in their Spanish skills and allow them to see that they are able to speak in the target language, even if at a simple level at first. Teaching Suggestions
