Jennifer Jacob Biol131 osol2 October 8, 2011 Prof. Young Heart Dissection Lab Introduction: This lab exercise consists of the dissection of a sheep heart. The purpose of this lab is to become more knowledgeable with the anatomy of the internal and external heart. This lab exercise allows for the students to have a visual understanding of the human heart by comparison of the sheep heart. Procedures/materials: Materials needed for this lab exercise were a dissection kit, a tray, and of course, a preserved sheep heart. The scissors from the dissection kit were used to neatly cut into the superior vena cava down into the atrium and ventricles to reveal the internal anatomy of the heart.
