Teens, Television, And movies Teenagers Values Portrayed in Television and Movies I have chosen to do my topic on values portrayed in popular media. Teens are either portrayed as being teenage parents, delinquents, and liars among other things on television. Shows like the secrete life of the American teenager (July 2008) and pretty little liars (June 2010) which air on ABC family are two shows that portray such things. As far as movies go Mean Girls (April 2004), The 10 things I hate about you (March 1999), Easy A (September 2010), and She’s all that (January 1999) are great examples of movies that portray teens being bad. However I am not going to say that we do not have these types of teenagers in our every day life. None the less this is how television shows and movies portray our youth.
