Summarizing the Medigap Program Jessica Thibodeaux The core benefits of the Medigap program help all that receive Medicare coverage. These benefits include: Part A daily coinsurance for days 61-90 of hospitalization, Part A daily coinsurance for each of Medicare’s 60 lifetime inpatient hospital days, 100% of covered hospital charges for 365 additional days after all Medicare hospital benefits have been used, Part B coinsurance amount after the deductable, and the first three pints of blood per calendar year. The Medigag program meets the coverage needs well. Any procedures Medicare does not cover the Medigap program will cover most of depending on which plan the consumer chooses. These plans can cover the coinsurance and deductable of hospital stays as well as covering part of non covered services. The costs of these plans are fair depending on the coverage the consumer

The best thing to do is to shop around from different insurance companies to find the best price of each plan. If a patient is in good health then these plans would not be fair priced. In my opinion these plans will benefit a person with several medical problems because the cost of coinsurance, deductibles, and non covered services can be overwhelming to a person that is disabled. If a disabled person needs skilled nursing or home health, plans c-g will cover some of the costs associated. The implications of using a private insurance company, is the cost. Government insurance programs are usually cheaper but have less coverage. The consumer must compare the need for this insurance to the costs and savings before subscribing to a plan....
