Executive Journal 161 ABSTRACT A mobile phone is one of the most important communication devices in our daily live.† Almost everyone carries a mobile phone.† A mobile phone with advanced wireless communication technology can be a great vehicle to deliver education to students.† However, there are both advantages and disadvantages to using a mobile phone with advanced wireless communication technology to handle this important duty.† This article provides information about wireless communication technology as follows: an overview and wireless communication technology in education, itûs advantages, and disadvantages. ∫∑§—¥¬àÕ ‚∑√»—æ∑凧≈◊ËÕπ∑’ˇªìπ‡§≈◊ËÕπ∑’ˇªìπ‡§√◊ËÕß¡◊Õ ◊ËÕ “√∑’Ë ”§—≠∑’Ë ÿ¥™π‘¥Àπ÷Ëß„π™’«‘μª√–®”«—π ´÷Ëß„π∑ÿ°«—ππ’È·∑∫∑ÿ°§π®–‡ªìπ ‡®â“¢Õß‚∑√»—æ∑凧≈◊ËÕπ∑’Ë „π¢≥–‚∑√»—æ∑凧≈◊ËÕπ∑’ˇ∑§‚π‚≈¬’ Ÿß “¡“√∂„™â‡ªìπ‡§√◊ËÕß¡◊Õ„π°“√„Àâ°“√»÷°…“ ·μà„π¢≥–‡¥’¬«°—π°“√ „™â‚∑√»—æ∑凧≈◊ËÕπ∑’ˇ∑§‚π‚≈¬’ Ÿß„πß“π∑’Ë ”§—≠‡™àππ’È¡’∑—ÈߢâÕ¥’·≈–¢âÕ‡ ’¬ ‚¥¬∫∑§«“¡π’ȉ¥â„Àâ¢âÕ¡Ÿ≈„π¿“æ√«¡‡°’ˬ«°—∫°“√„™â‡∑§‚π‚≈¬’ °“√ ◊ËÕ “√‰√â “¬„π°“√»÷°…“ √«¡‰ª∂÷ߢâÕ¥’·≈–¢âÕ‡ ’¬¢Õß°“√„™â‡∑§‚π‚≈¬’¥—ß°≈à“« AN OVERVIEW A wireless network allows a user to communicate with another wirelessly. Users may use radio waves (Bluetooth) or infrared light waves (IrDA) to connect with each other. With the use of wireless technology, users may move from one location to another freely. Users do not have to disconnect and reconnect to the network unlike the wired network (Khalil, 2004). Wireless technology is divided into generations. First generation (1G) transmits analog data, such as voice. In early 1980s, 1G technology was first applied in the mobile phone systems (Jaloun & Guennoun, 2010). Second generation (2G) transmits digital data at speeds from 9.6 Kbps to 19.2 Kbps. Third generation (3G) transmits digital data at speeds from 144 Kbps to 2.4 Mbps, quickly displays multimedia and graphics, and allows users to browse the Web, watch television or video, have a video conference, and transfer data on a cellular phone (Gandal, Salant, & Waverman, 2003; Robins, 2003). For the 2G technology, there are many mobile phone systems available, such as Global System for Mobile
