Comparative advertising has been growing in use. With no legal guidelines currently, advertisers are left to regulate their ads themselves. Do you favor or oppose comparative advertising? Why? Comparative advertising has been in use for a long time. Peddlers stating that their brand of elixir is better than the last peddlers, to Coke vs. Pepsi, to Southwest airlines vs. other airlines fees. I feel that in some aspect it allows the consumer to see what the company views as their competitors, but you must remember that the view is a very bias opinion. I do not favor or oppose comparative advertising, since it can provide some very comical commercials. What guidelines would you recommend to minimize comparative ads that may be misleading or overly aggressive? I feel that additional guidelines are not needed.
