Marketing 301 WA3 A. Create a description of your family as a market segment using geographic, psychographic, and demographic factors. When looking at my family as a market segment, I will first look at our geographic segmentation. Our geographic segmentation is based in a small suburban area in the Southeastern Pennsylvania Region about 40 miles northwest of Philadelphia and about 20 miles south of Allentown. Our demographic segmentation would be as follows. My family is a Caucasian family consisting of Dad-Tom-Male-41; Mom-April-Female-36; Daughter-Rachel-Female-9; Son-James-Male-7; Grandmother-Rachel- Female -78. My wife and I would fall into the Generation X segmentation, since we were born in the late 60’sand early 70’s. My school aged children fall into the Generation Z segmentation, while my mother would be a senior born in the Silent Generation. My wife and I both have college degrees and my mother a high school diploma. My wife is in the education field and I am in sales and education. Our income range for my family would be around $75,000 – $90,000 a year. For determination of our Psychographic segmentation I took the VALS survey and our primary VALS type was Achievers. The Val’s survey defines Achievers as “motivated by the desire
