Three communication careers I would like to pursue, include: public relations, teacher, and any general leadership position. Public relations (PR) is the management of inform- ation between an organization and its publics. Public relations gains an organization ex- posure to their audiences by using topics of public interest and news items that do not require direct payment . Public relations places exposure in credible third-party outlets, which offers a third-party legitimacy that advertising can not. Public relations includes activities like: speaking at conferences, working with the press, and employee commu- nication. PR is most used to build rapport with employees , customers , investors , voters , and the general public. A number of specialties exist within the field of public relations, such as Analyst Relations,

For obvious reasons, a communication teacher would need to be familiar with communica-tion techniques it hopes to teach. Understanding communication, in all it’s facets, is a concern for myself if I plan to teach because I believe that every student learns and communicates differently. A students ability to learn is measured by the teacher’s ability to effectively communicate the materials. Similar to a teacher, any leader must be able to effectively communicate to his team. Interpersonal communication is of high import-ance in my current job in retail. Communication helps me daily by giing me an opportunity to effectively communicate my thoughts and emotions to coworkers and loved ones....
