Name: Heather Tschoepe Date: 5/5/2020 Francisco Gonzalez Light 1. In what ways does Mr. Gonzalez monitors student progress? By talking to the students, reflecting on how they do their work, how they test, communication between Mr. Gonzales and the students. 2. Notice that Mr. Gonzalez has a firm understanding of the challenges of his content area. He recognizes that comparisons or connections to something familiar must be made in order to ensure understanding. Most will relate to the lessons based on something that they like. For instance, music is relatable for the students. Everyone loves music. Hands on is the easier way of the students understanding the content area. They are always reviewing and viewing charts up around the classroom. He asks the students to reflect on their own work so they know how they are doing. 3. In what ways is Mr. Gonzalez using music in his lesson? If you play music, and make it part of the lesson, they will remember the song and the content that goes along with it. He sits in front of the class and singsa song with science terms and the students sing with him (they can follow along from the board, too). There are a lot of repetitive words in the song. 4. Take note how Mr. Gonzalez maximizes instructional time by gathering and passing out materials while students are engaged in academic conversations with their peers.
