Colonialism is the establishment of territories in one area by people of another area. Unfortunately, the U.S. now pays little attention to Africa, having been burned in anarchic Somalia. Lawlessness, corruption, and massacres indicate failed states . We should remember that this was set up by European imperialists, who crushed the natives and created artificial countries, which pan-Africanism has not overcome. South Africa, which preserved a colonialist setup long after the decolonization of most of Africa, gives fascinating insights into colonialism, which in the 19th century blanketed the globe but mostly ended after World War II. 2.
