Elizabeth Spartas March 10, 2011 Grade 1 Pronouns 45 minutes I. Content/ Objectives a. Teacher Objective: Students will be able to explain what a pronoun is and identify and replace them in a sentence with 85% accuracy. b. Student Target: I can explain what a pronoun is and identify them in a sentence. c. EALR/GLEs: EALR 3 GLE 3.3.5 II. Materials a. Big poster paper b. Marker c. Poster that lists different pronouns and examples of words they might replace d. Worksheet on pronouns III. Modifications/Adaptations a. Children with dyslexia or similar disabilities: include practice & assessment items that are oral, read directions out loud, allow students to work with a partner/ peer- helper at times b. Children who are cognitively impaired: review the previous material that is relevant beforehand, work with partners/peer-helpers, allow students the chance to practice on more simple sentences IV. Instructional Procedures a. Opener/Anticipatory Set: a.i. Have the class create two silly character names (first, middle, and last)
