Karina Santana September 3, 2008 Philosophy Hw # 2 “ Many People would sooner die than think. In fact, they do” by Bertrand Russell. Question: What do you think this means? Do you agree or disagree? Personally I feel like this quote is telling us that death is unexpected. Most people fear death and prefer not to even talk about it but if you really think about it death can simply attack at any moment without any warning. This can also be related to life itself. In my opinion everyone dies with a regret maybe if we only thought about it sooner we could have made it. I do not completely agree with this quote. It sounds like an automaton. Is either you think or you die which isnt really the case if life. Obviously if you make a wrong choice the outcomes wouldnt be as you hoped but I do not believe that it will cost you a life. Its too explicit of a quote....
