Interview Guide Q: On average, how many student misbehavior/off-task behavior incidents do you normally have to deal with during one class period? Number of misbehavior incidents: 5-9 depending on the class______ (a ) Same student student(s) or (b) different students being off-task every time (Circle a or b or both) Misbehaviors usually stem from (a ) individuals or (b ) certain groups/cliques (Circle a or b ) Q : Identify the most prominent types of misbehavior that you see in your class ( ask them to circle behaviors using the Table and also ask them to provide at least two specifically related to their teaching subject ) ? Specific to teaching subject: Not following instructions and rules that I give for a game is common. Students will try to play with equipment out of turn. Also if I give corrective instruction often the kids apologize, yet return to the misbehavior. Specific to teaching subject: Students become very competitive. Some students are skilled and athletic while others are not as coordinated. Often more athletic students become annoyed with the less skilled students when they don’t do well. They will bully the less skilled students and make fun of them for not doing well. Q: Please explain: What specific strategies do you utilize while teaching to handle misbehaving students (At least 2-3 examples ) ? Strategy 1:
