Food is defined as substance that we eat to provide our bodies with the nutrients that it needs to survive. Food habits is the way we humans eat our food from the way gather and obtain it to the way we prepare it to how and when we eat it. These habits vary from culture to culture. Omnivore’s Paradox is the dilemma that humans face with the need to eat a variety of foods and experiment with foods and conservatism. Humans must eat a variety of foods to obtain the necessary nutrients to keep the body going. It is also in our nature to experiment with different foods even though every culture and group has its own habits and staples. Every worldview has different ways in treating the ill and illnesses. A lot of cultures treat through foods and medicinal herbs and through medicinal healers as well. In the US, we mainly believe the biomedical healing. That means we go see a doctor when we get sick and they usually prescribe some form of medication. Because this is where I was born and raised, if I get sick or a member of my family gets sick, we go see a doctor. We seek professional help instead of trying home remedies. Folk illness or culture bound syndrome is illness that is specific to a certain group or culture.
