SYLLABUS Course Title Information: Code:  FIN 500 Title:   Advanced Topics in Finance  Term:  2011 Session # 1 (Unit: 3)  Instructor Information: Name:    Prof. Bingsheng Yi  Phone:   (310) 243-2621 Email:   1101fin500@csudhonline.net Catalog Description FIN 500 Advanced Topics in Finance  This course is designed to provide tools in financial decision making. Topics covered in this course will include  valuation analysis, cost of capital, capital budgeting, capital structure, distribution to shareholders, and strategic  financial management. This course's objective is to familiarize you with the financial decision making process and  train you in the fundamental techniques used to deal with the generic financial problems, make investments choices  and how to raise the necessary financing. The course will try to integrate theory and practical applications through  selected cases and readings.  Prerequisite:  FIN 360.  Required Textbook:   McGraw-Hill, ISBN: 978-0-07-338225-8, MHID: 0-07-338225-6.  Intereactive examples can be accessed form student  webcite acompanying the textbook:  http://highered.mcgrawhill.com/sites/0073382256/student_view0/index.html .
