No Arguments For : 1. People are eating a lot more than before because the food industry heavily rely on advertising and marketing techniques. There are places now where food was never advertised and marketed before, like Home Depot, Staples, and Shoes stores. (Frumkin, 2003) 2. Consumers have a lack of understanding of the calorie intakes of the food they eat at a restaurant. By putting nutrition labeling on the menu, it provides healthier choices and clear information for the consumer to make when eating at a restaurant. (Borut, 2007) 3. Caesar Barber, a 56 years old maintenance worker, sued the fast food industry for giving him two heart attacks and making him obese. His claims were that fast food industry did little to give consumers information on the high fat, cholesterol and salt intakes on their foods. (Portnoy, 2009) Arguments Against: 1. Restaurant industry has created new menus like the reduced-calorie and reduced- fat menu items because of consumer demands. Restaurateurs are not forcing
