Holiday Scuffle By Christopher Webb December 9, 2010 Thanksgiving is over, and as customers close their ovens and turn off their stoves, shoppers who are participating in the holiday low prices in certain stores, are caught in a war between amateurs and professionals at the College Mall in Bloomington, Indiana. John Cole, a show promoter who is his own owner of J&D Promotions, is a frequent “mall crasher”. Cole who tours with a dozen of other sellers, travels across the two states of Indiana and Illinois, and knows his stay is just temporary. “We are here for just two weeks.” Cole Said “I buy leases that fit my budget and our revenue strand, so I come away with some profit.” The sellers that Cole normally bring with him on his tours, most of the time apply to set up shop with him on tours as Cole advertises his needs for booth rentals on his tour in magazines and newspapers. “I advertise anywhere, from sports magazines to newspaper ads.” Cole Said “They then send me an e-mail or call me, in which they ask to come on tour with me and sell their merchandise.” Said Cole
