Action on All Fronts! By Christopher Webb New IU president-elect Michael A. McRobbie called for “action on all fronts “in his first speech, as he addressed a crowd consisting of his Board of Trustees on the campus of IUPUI. “I’m pleased to present my first report.” McRobbie said “First let me also extend my welcome to the new trustees and say also how honored and humbled and deeply grateful I am for the confidence that the whole board has placed in me” he said The Australia native and former Provost of IU, presented his vision including the fundamentals to make that vision successful. “At the start of a new presidency, this is a good time to reaffirm our two fundamental missions” he said. “Provide the best possible education for our students; vigorously pursue world-class research in the sciences, the professions, the humanities, and the creative arts.” McRobbie said McRobbie, content to make IU a leading research university, has strong support from current president Steve Ferguson.
