No Pressure at Big Ten By Christopher Webb For the IU track and field squad, the whole season was based on not only winning but to go to Nationals and bring a championship to IU. Though the nationals is in narrow view of the squads aspirations for this season, a conference championship is not too far from the tree of championship trophies that the Hoosiers wouldn’t mind hoisting up when everything is all set and done this upcoming Saturday at the Big Ten Championships. The IU women will be looking to embark on their championship aspirations by heading to West Lafayette, as the team will have to split up for a third straight week. The men will be heading west to neighboring Illinois led by sophomore standout, runner Andy

Unformatted text preview: Bayer, who believes not making a big deal about meeting expectations, can make him and his teammates more at ease come Saturday, as he plans to run in three events. “We’re all excited but we cannot make a big deal out of it,” Bayer Said “We put pressure on ourselves if our mindset going in is living up to our expectations and goals we already set for ourselves.” Coach Ron Helmers believe his team prepared for this all season and they’re ready, but still want to see more individuals step up. “We’re as prepared as we can be,” Coach Helmers Said “We just got to focus and we need more than our top individuals on this team to step up to the challenge.”...
