See and run your first Perl script and begin understanding Perl syntax. Practice using the IT Labs Submit Tool for submitting your lab assignment. Learning to edit and run Perl scripts in Linux/Unix The lab computers run an operating system called Linux, which is a common environment that people use for programming. The lab assignments for the class can be completed on the lab computers or on your own laptops or desktops, but we will give you a quick tutorial on how to use Linux. There are a few key commands that will be helpful in getting around the command-line Linux environment on the lab machines.
