Ethics Defined…. “Moral principals and recognized rules of conduct regarding a particular class of human action.” (Frey, et.al, 1991 p.140). Morals involve values, which are standards by which we judge behavior. Rules of conduct refer to accepted and recognized forms of behavior.

Ethical Issues Relevant to Research  Rules of Scholarship 1. Give appropriate credit for one’s ideas 2. Report conflicting evidence and all that you find. 3. Describe the flaws in your research. 4. Use primary sources whenever possible 5. When working in groups give appropriate credit for work. 6. All research is conducted under a general ethical code.
