Observation Assignment This assignment involves observing everyday interaction for one to two hours. You will be observing some type of interpersonal communication. Your observations may be guided by one or more questions you posed in the first assignment. You will take observation notes. These notes will then be typewritten (double space) into full field notes. Carefully review lecture notes on recording observations. Your field notes will be a chronological account of your observations. You will be taking detailed notes on the nature of the event, the participants, the interaction between them, nonverbal exchanges, mood or climate of the activity, and your interpretations of the meaning, nuances, and overall intent of the actions you observe. Be sure to distinguish between behavior and your inferences drawn from behavior. Be as specific as possible. Try to record conversation verbatim. Use a consistent set of symbols to indicate
