Dear Lawn Care Professional or Turfgrass Manager, The use of pesticide products is essential to the production and maintenance of healthy turfgrass and the benefits provided by healthy turfgrass. However, there are governmental and public concerns about pesticide use: food, water, worker, personal, child, pet, environmental, and wildlife, including endangered species, safety, and protection. Much of the pesticide use data collected in the past has been centered on agricultural commodities and the relationship to food and water safety. However, as emphasis on aggregate and cumulative exposure becomes increasingly more important, the need for pesticide use information in urban settings, particularly on lawns, increases as well.
