Excellent Student C299, Section 2625 Observation Assignment 10-03-2005 Dr. Sandwina Introduction The observation took place at Forest Hills Apartment playground. I choose this location because I live in Forest Hills Apartments but I have never been to the park. Also, I wanted my observation to include children, and a park is a great place to observe children. My observation was not inspired by a question on the first assignment; my observation was inspired by an incident that took place three weeks ago. I was in the Information Technology Lab, and a little girl was bothering me as her mother, who looked no older than 25, continually told her daughter to leave me alone. Of course, her daughter did not listen to her. Keeping this incident in mind, I formed my research question: Are there parenting interaction differences between young parents (less than 25 years of age) and old parents (more than 25 years of age)? Background Information Time : September 27, 2005 from 2:45-3:45 Location : Forest Hills Apartment playground Participants : older mother, her eight-year-old daughter, and a teenager Purpose of Function : The daughter wanted to come to the park and the teenager wanted to enjoy the cool day. Frequency : Unknown
