M119 Chapters 3 and 4 Study Guide for Test 3 Differentiate functions that include powers, constant multipliers, logarithms, exponentials, products, quotients and compositions of functions (chain rule). Do obvious simplifications like combining like terms and multiplying constants together. There are many good problems in Chapter 3. Find the second derivative of a function. Find the derivative of a function at a particular point. Write the equation of the line tangent to the graph of a function at a particular point. Be able to use both notations for the derivative and the second derivative. Given a function, find the following information about the function and then use this information to draw a good sketch of the graph of the function.

Expect one big question where I ask for everything and a good sketch of the graph. Also expect some smaller questions where I ask for critical points and max/min points or points of inflection.
