2 This proposal is for PoolCorp’s human resource department new counselor hiring program. The human resource department prides itself on creating a working environment that is both organized and successful. The primary focus of this office is to improve overall customer satisfaction therefore increasing profit margins. The challenges are similar to any other company, to be able to operate in an efficient manner. To reach all the goals outlined, employee recruiting must be done to hire qualified candidates that can assist the company to meet the primary goals of the company. This hiring guide will not only assist the company with recruiting the right individuals, but also help the individuals make a choice as to whether or not this is the company they wish to work for. Because the field of swimming pool products is a competitive market, it is important that the company take care to recruit the best individuals for the position. Improved candidate selection and recruitment is becoming increasingly important as human resource departments look to transform their staffing resources into competitive advantage. Unfortunately, resumes and simple interviews are no longer enough to guarantee the recruitment of talent. (Wonderlic, 2010). This process can be very detailed and complex, which is very important that the counselor fit into the office and earn the trust of the patients. This position is extremely hard to fill as it requires a hunt to match the right candidate with the position. A materials handler guarantees the safety of others while performing their required duties or assignments being assigned to them. Materials handlers spend a majority of their time helping customers, which is important that they have the utmost

3 professionalism and gaining customer trust and loyalty. They must be kind and able to connect with a customer fairly quickly. They are also responsible for giving information or advice to customers because they may be liable for any mistakes. To fully connect with the patients and carry out the tasks of a successful materials handler, one must learn to connect fully and quickly with a customer. The key is to identify the customer’s needs and do everything possible to meet them. The materials handler must also be able to speak clear and on a level in which the customer can understand. It is also important to have a clear communication between other employees and managers within the store. The materials handler must be organized and able to maintain a busy schedule allowing for un-foreseen warehouse emergencies. This job has a high level of stress, so the perfect candidate will have a high tolerance for stress and emotion. The most important skill of a successful materials handler is to connect and maintain a patient load with satisfied customers.
