Master of Religious Education The MREML is an integrated degree focused on leadership in missional congregations or other ministry contexts. All courses are focused on the tasks of leadership and/or the development of missional leaders. Within this integrated design, however, there are three areas of concentration in which the student will complete 12 hours of study a piece: The Bible and Missional Leadership (Biblical Studies) Integrated Leadership Mission of God (Theology/History) The degree will culminate with a defense of a student portfolio. The portfolio will be kept online and may include any number of items from the student’s work throughout the program. Each course will designate items for the portfolio, some of which will be documents built over time through the course of the degree. Eight of the twelve courses will be offered online. The student will be required to spend two weeks a year in face-to- face learning, which will include course work and a retreat.
