19:48 Demographic Reasons for Crime A rise in the population of people who are statistically more likely to commit crimes has  been linked to the 1900’s and 2000’s .  Demographic Changes Steven Levitt a co-author of “Freakonomics” argues that Roe V. Wade is the reason for  the drop in crime in the 1900’s and 2000’s With legalization of Abortion came fewer unwanted children. Unwanted are more likely  to commit crime.  Abortions are on the decline which could lead to a higher rate in the future.  Age as a Reason for Crime Crime is a young man’s game Most crimes are committed by people under the age of 30. Many Juveniles in lower class neighborhoods do not consider an arrest or a conviction  as a juvenile as a shameful thing. Most juvenile criminals receive relatively light sentences. This explains why a large percentage of crime is committed by Juveniles.
