Running head: A PAPER ABOUT THINGS 1 How to Do Running Heads in APA 6 th Edition, Revised (Word 2007) 1. Click the “Insert” tab at the top and choose “Header,” then “blank.” 2. Click the “Different first page” checkbox located at the top of the page under the options. 3. Type your Running Head in all CAPS including the words “Running head” (e.g. Running head: A PAPER ABOUT THINGS). a. Note: make sure this is left-justified. b. Note: Running heads should generally be 50 characters or less. 4. Hit the Tab key twice so that the cursor is now right-justified. 5. Click the “Page Number” button, then go to the Current Position option and choose the Plain Number choice. a. Make sure you do NOT choose the Top of Page option, as it will
