(a) The diode is connected in series with a 2 k Ω resistor as shown in Fig. Q1. Use the constant-voltage-drop model to estimate the value of I D and V D . (b) Using the exponential diode equation, obtain an accurate solution for I D and V D by iteration. This is the bias point. (c) The voltage at node A is momentarily changed from 5.000V to 5.100 V, i.e. v dd = 0.100 V. Solve for the current through the diode and the voltage across the diode b y i t e r a t i o n . (d) The voltage at node A is momentarily changed from 5.0V to 4.900 V, i.e. v dd = -0.100 V. Solve for the current through the diode and the voltage across the diode b y i t e r a t i o n . In parts (b) to (d), please ensure that the calculated voltage across the diode is accurate to 4 decimal places or 0.0001 V. (e) If the change in the voltage at node A is v dd , and the resulting change in the solutions for V D and I D are v d and i d , respectively, obtain the ratio v d / i d using the results in (b) to (d).
