Course Goals and Characteristics 1. Overall goal is to understand environmental issues from a chemical perspective 2. Not meant to prepare you for future course work in chemistry. Chemical principles are discussed on an “as needed” basis. 3. Assumes a high school science background in chemistry. 4. Math is de-emphasized but not eliminated. You will have to add/subtract/multiply/divide (mostly in the context of unit conversions).
