Name: Jigar.Rajpura X-01824544 Instructor: Dr.Pal Course:PAS256 Summer-II 2008, Final Exam “ A case control study of the association between polymorphisms of the endothelial nitric oxide synthase and glycoprotein IIIa genes and upper gastrointestinal bleeding in users of low-dose aspirin.” The study is a CASE CONTROL STUDY : Cases were selected from consecutive patients admitted to 2 general hospitals in Zaragoza,Spain between Sept.1998 and Oct.2000.Eligible patients were presenting with signs of upper GI bleeding and met the inclusion criteria. It is an experimental study design as the patients were assigned to various treatment groups depending upon the occurrence of GI bleeding with low-dose aspirin. Prospective study: Information for both cases and controls was obtained prospectively through a structured interview.
