Jon Williams PSY 105 Prof. Zimmerman Paper 4 In order to measure the intelligence of the inhabitants of Antarea, I would employ a wide array of tests. Each test would seek to measure the participants’ intelligence in a certain area. The three areas of intelligence that would be mainly covered are analytical, practical and creative. These terms, coined by Robert Sternberg, are a better measure of an individual’s overall intelligence versus the traditional concept of general intelligence. It’s widely understood that different people have greater abilities in certain subjects compared to others. Breaking down the measure of intelligence into multiple theaters makes the tests more reliable and strengthens their validity. The first test will measure the practical intelligence of the person being tested. The participants will be given a list with an extensive list of items on it. Each item can only be obtained on a certain island; however the items are not listed in any specific order. The
