Bees are transported by truckloads to California to pollinate the fruit crops. o Why? Because of pesticides, natural bee populations have been eliminated. The scale of the agricultural demand is beyond capabilities of natural pollination. 3 Types of Fruit Crops produced in California in large monoculture fields: o Blueberries o Almonds o Cranberries o Water Melon If we lost all of our pollinators we would be left with wind pollination, which generates primarily wheat, leaving us with bread.
