Your Guide for Managing in Egypt Communicating - Personal relationships are necessary for long-term business and it is important Egyptians know and like you before you conduct business - Before any negotiation, wait to be told where to sit because seating reflects rank - It is important to incorporate older people with impressive titles on your team since Egyptians respect age and experience - Contracts and agreements should very carefully outline the expectations for both sides, emphasizing every small detail. - Americans should be cautious that they may be too assertive while communicating with Egyptians in a business setting. Egyptians tend to have a more hesitant style in regard to opening a conversation. - Egyptians tend to communicate in a closer proximity then Americans are accustomed too. It is important that Americans are aware and remain comfortable in these situations so that they do not ruin the chance of building the relationship that is so important to doing business in Egypt. - Egyptians do not speak as succinctly as Americans tend to.
