Brooke Galietto April 9, 2010 MIS 235 FSB Event Paper On April 4, 2010 Jim Maher stood before a full house. Taylor auditorium was overflowing with attentive students and eager adults. I was very impressed and surprised by the size of the crowd. Maher immediately won over the crowd by adorning a Miami hat and declaring his support for the Miami hockey team in the Frozen Four that night. With his Miami baseball cap still on, Maher began to describe his admirable and crucial position at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Maher is a partner of the firm and has been with PricewaterhouseCoopers for many years. He has established an impressive career and serves as a role model and inspiration for all of the students in the room. Maher’s speech had two important points. First, Maher explained how important it is for us rising graduates to understand and adjust for the current economic situation. Maher described the effect that the troubled economy has had on his career and the changes PricewaterhouseCoopers had to make to overcome the recent challenges.
