Bluefly Memorandum To: John Smith From: Brooke Galietto Date: January 28, 2010 Subject: Improvements for our Business Process Our current business process model lacks efficiency and organization. As Bluefly grows, it is imperative we adjust our business process before mistakes are made and customers are lost. We frequently misplace customer information, send the incorrect products to customers, and make mistakes in the shipping process. All of these issues cost us time and money daily. An integrated data repository system would eliminate these problems. I propose we reorganize our current information systems and delivery processes. At this time, when a customer places an order online his order is directly transferred to the Inventory Warehouse where employees send a confirmation email, conclude the payment transaction, collect and package the merchandise, and put the item in the mail. This manual process takes several days and leaves significant room for error. By automating our business process we could reduce the turn around time for each order and decrease
